Australian Business Group Abu Dhabi - 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM)


The Australian Business Group Abu Dhabi (AusBG) is pleased to invite you to our Annual General Meeting (AGM), which will be held at 6pm on Wednesday, 12 March 2025, at Yas Links, Abu Dhabi. The AGM will provide an opportunity for our Chairperson, Joanna King, along with the AusBG Board of Directors, to present the achievements of the past year and outline key initiatives and developments for the year ahead.


Following the AGM, an optional Iftar buffet at a cost of 180DHS will be hosted to allow for further engagement and discussion.

What is the AusBG Board of Directors and What is Its Role?

The Australian Business Group Abu Dhabi is a dynamic, business-focused, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting the Australian expatriate community in Abu Dhabi and the broader GCC region. As a respected voice for the Australian business community in the UAE our mission is to provide ongoing support to the Australian community in the UAE through a comprehensive events calendar, information sharing, and facilitating business connections. The AusBG Board of Directors plays a critical role in advancing this mission. The Board contributes valuable leadership and business expertise and serves as advocates for the AusBG and its members within the wider UAE business community.

What Does It Take to Serve on the AusBG Board of Directors?

Becoming a member of the AusBG Board requires a commitment to the organisation's goals, including the following:


โ€ข Current financial membership of the AusBG

โ€ข Active involvement in a C-Level management role


Board members are expected to attend monthly meetings, take responsibility for specific portfolios (such as event planning or membership), and advocate for the AusBG throughout their tenure. The day-to-day operations of the AusBG are overseen by an Operations Manager.

Board terms are set at two (2) years, with the option for re-election following a further term, contingent on approval by at least 30 voting members.

How to Join the AusBG Board of Directors?

Candidates for the Board of Directors must be nominated by a current financial member of the AusBG. To nominate yourself or another member, please complete the Nomination Form here. Nominations must be submitted by 5pm Friday, 7 March 2025 and should include a brief biography and a statement outlining the candidate's contribution to the AusBG.


On Monday, 10 March 2025, the AusBG website will be updated with a list of all nominees. The election will take place during the AGM on Wednesday, 12 March 2025.


If you are unable to attend the AGM but would still like your vote to count, you may submit a proxy vote to the Operations Manager by 5pm Monday, 10 March 2025. The Proxy Form can be found here.
